Pilot Description
Two pilots were conducted at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY that measured the reduction and diversion of food and organic wastes and any water reduction savings. The projected 3,000 gals of fresh water usage savings was surpassed in both pilots.

Based on 3-week pilot and audit prior to installation
Pilot Period: March 2016 – April 2016 (trial)
Diversion: 3.5 tons (7,445 lbs)
Reduction: 1,489 lbs
Reduction Rate: 80%
Pilot 2 Results
Based on the first 8 weeks of use
Pilot Period:P May 2018 – Present (Ongoing)
Diversion: 7 tons (14,000 lbs)
Reduction: 1,960lbs
Reduction Rate: 85%
